Very much taking on a gothic and even punkish style. A long time in the 'youth' scene of poverty-stricken Russia has left its brand upon her psyche. Two leathery, draconian wings remain folded and hidden under clothing at all times, to prevent her more bestial identity being shown. PERSONALITY: Cynical and showing a brazen contempt for the world, Sonya also is very much in touch with her physical side. An almost certainly dangerous edge to her, Sonya has an addiction to thrills, mainly fuelled by a willingness to lose herself in them, whenever possible. Often drifting between restlessness and downright sociopathic tendencies. HISTORY: With a mixed heritage, to say the least, Sonya's upbringing was marred by duel adoration and fear by parents. Her father, an individual with considerable respect in Russian political diplomacy circles, became involved in what some might call an indiscretion: A dalliance with what was to have eventually become Sonya's mother: Exotically attractive, but certainly demonic. For various reasons, it was her father which took responsibility of Sonya herself. Other than the wings, it was during puberty that Sonya Ramius came to realise most of her supernatural talents. But, like all teenagers, Sonya has been repressing it. And as she would admit, quite a screw up it has all come to be: A father that loved her, but always enforced a sense of inferiority, of dirtiness associated with the darker part of his daughter. To always hide it and be human, to pretend if need be, but to never forget she is as much human as whatever else makes her up. To never let go - indeed, to embrace it. To use it to over-ride the other part. A mother, on the other hand, estranged, who preached always the opposite and to be the best of both worlds, by embracing demonhood and using the humanity. But Sonya still had human conscience and found herself balking at some of it. Either way, there was always one parent who understood and adored one part of her heritage, yet pushed for it to over-ride the other - no matter who it was. Polar opposites and never a peaceful compromise. It all culminated in a rebellious streak, coupled with inferiority complex. The poverty which ravaged much of Russia, once Cold War ended, opening up an entirely new youth scene of anxiety and decadent enjoyment. But Sonya Ramius, no matter the embarrassment it caused her father, could never be kept indoors. She yearned for the nocturnal life. And with her temper, it was better to at least let her off the parental leash a little, than to lose her totally. Who knew what the other alternative could be? When situations have ever got violent or even lusty in general, Sonya has felt very predatory. Lately she had even noticed her teeth and nails elongating more sharply at such times. As a consequence, she has been too afraid to ever let any of those who pass for 'friends' in on her secret or get too close, due to being too privately afraid of what could happen, or if they, like her own parents, would judge her. The spectre of her father's warnings of them thinking her an abomination, being all too ominous for her to ignore. An uncaring front always put up to hide her real emotional state. ABILITIES: Technically, she could fly, but has so many hang-ups about a stray witness finding out, that she has rarely ever actually done so. In a fight, Sonya has revealed an angry and vicious streak which befits her striking red hair. A degree of accelerated healing and demonic legacy has allowed her to accomplish a lot more, physically, than most humans could. But she has never excelled in it during school years, deliberately, to avoid others knowing. Predatory senses, on a par with lycanthropy or possibly vampire, have allowed her a far greater degree of sensory interpretation than more human compatriots. WEAKNESSES: An appetite for meat and carnivorous diet has led her astray in the past. Increasingly more than ever, since her darker heritage is increasing its hold as she ages. Her liking for violence is starting to show and it is now surprising - and disturbing - herself. Emotional conflicts are resident and, along with healing, has often led to self-mutilation with no residual scar at all.
